Landscapes and panoramas from Cinque Terre to Golfo dei poeti

In the easternest places of the Riviera di Levante there are two natural paradises which every year attract millions of turists from every part of world: the Cinque Terre and the Golfo dei Poeti. The Cinque Terre include all the coastline that goes from Riomaggiore to Punta Mesco for a length of about 15/20 kilometres.
Our little hotel is situated in a ideal place for tourists who reach the city by train: we are at only 5 minutes walking by railway station.

Cinque Terre

Riomaggiore

The Cinque Terre include all the coastline that goes from Riomaggiore to Punta Mesco for a length of about 15/20 kilometres. The landscape is characterized by the deep contrast between Land and Sea, its steep slopes, the precipices to the sea, the typical terrace cultivations, relized by the inhabitants after a hard works of generations.

Here, the five little towns of Cinque Terre cling to the mountains: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza e Monterosso. The loneliness of hundreds of years has helped to maintain the sharm and beauty of this landscape that is mostly preserved and that attract an even-increasing numberof people.

Portovenere

Porto venere

The compact and stronghold stucture reveals the military destination of the past, when Portovenere was a Genoa port and military base. Nowdays the tourist couldn’t be fascinated by this nice town, with its little coloured houses faced to the sea and its narrow streets.

The little S.Pietro Church remains isolated on a piece of land which precipizes to the sea and could be reached only by a steep flight of steps. The original church is built in place of an ancient roman temple. Next to S.Pietro Church it is possible to see the narrow and little steps that bring to Arpaia cave, so dear to Lord Byron (XIX°) and that perhaps was his inspiration source.

Lerici

lerici

Lerici was called “The Gulf Pearl” and it was an ancient Greek an Phoenician port. During Middle Ages it was dominated at first by Pisa when the ancient Castel that dominates the town was built, then by Genoa too.

It is place of inspiration to several artists, among all the poet P.B.Shelley. Nowdays Lerici is a modern turistic place.
